Bad Posture and Wolff’s Law

Wolff’s Law is one of the most important theories to consider when talking about bad posture and its affects on your back longterm.

The theory states that the spine degenerates when posture is poorly affected.

Wolf's Law

A more technical definition of the theory from Wikipedia:

Wolff’s law is a theory developed by the German anatomist and surgeon Julius Wolff (1836–1902) in the 19th century that states that bone in a healthy person or animal will adapt to the loads under which it is placed.

Basically, if you sit or stand with poor posture, your body’s bones will adapt themselves to be shaped that way permanently!

This is why sitting with correct posture is so essential – if you slump or slouch regularly, there may be no coming back from it.

Luckily, there are many preventative measures to take, including an effective back brace or posture support system like the Bax-U.
